Local First Responders Train Aboard Norfolk Southern Safety Train
Recently, a group of Western Pennsylvania first responders had the opportunity to train aboard the Norfolk Southern Safety Train.
This month, Members from the City of Altoona Fire Department and local emergency management agencies went aboard Norfolk Southern’s safety train. Following the training, these first responders said that this type of training is very important to them.
Norfolk Southern offers their operation awareness and response training program completely free of charge for first responders. They give the first responders a mock scenario of a railroad incident, and then they have the opportunity to assess and address it.
